on a different note, as i've discussed my views previously, i have cahtted with a few rc guys over in japan. i was curious to see what they thought of them being the home of almost every high grade rc.

this is the general opinion i perceived;
xmods will not make it overseas for a few reasons...
too expensive to import
tamiya makes similar but better products

xmods are seen as a sort of mutant mini-z/tamiya awd rc. i get the feeling they are nto impressed at all wit either the electronics, quality or features.

i just thought it would be interesting to pass on the info. don't hol me resposible as these were just the impressions i got from the conversations. and before the negativity spues forth, consider the circumstances.... these opinions are coming from places where kyosho products are as easy to find as a 7/11 or rs. kyosho has become an ingrained hobby for whole family's there and there is no sign or worry about rs products. i even get the feeling they could care less about u.s. sales alltogether as they do just fine at home.

given this, i don't think you will see asian aftermarket parts manufactueres racing to jump on the xmod wagon. to them it probably isn't even on the radar. they have world class rc companies on their own shores.

sorry to post somewhat pesimistic news. if there are any japan xmoders here please post your thoughts as i'm sure there are disenting opinions there as well.

anyway, you best bet is to encourage and support people like craftsman who are takign it upon themselves to produce aftermarket/superior parts. i think there is more potential for u.s. manufactuers to jump on the xmod wagon than asian ones.

the development of the offical xmod racing series will only further the xmod craze and assure it's postition in the rc market. kyosho was smart to begin the cup races, rs is just as smart to do the same. i have an xmod as well as atleast one of each kind of mini-z and i look forward to racing all of them on my rcp track! i don't think it's really fair to mix the chassis's though unless your doing some sort of canonball run race where anything goes. inwhich case i would bring out my all alloy overland and cream everyone you can't win if you can't move....
