I just replaced the antenna on the car with about 6-7" of Cat5 and removed the cripple cap in the controller and voila, about a 30 foot range. Not scientifically measured, but my mate who is about 6"2 just laid down in a straight line lots of times LOL!!! you should have seen it. we ignored the 2" and it worked out at about 6 body lengths
around 32' if you include the last bit to where I was standing
