Try using higher capacity NiMH AAA batteries in the controller.

HERE are high capacity RadioShack batteries with a cool charger, and HERE are the batteries I used.....got 2 minutes of runtime..

Wait, if you're having charging problems, Open up the car and see if any wires are disconnected. Also, lookHERE at the first question, you can get replacement batteries.
