All I have to say, is that I could have easily dropped the $50+ on an NML motor if I wanted to, but I would rather come up with something on my own. I'll admit that I've got way more invested in my trial-and-error motor setups than I would have buying an off-the-shelf motor, but to me, the satifaction comes in building something yourself. Not paying others to do it for you. If you buy an off-the-shelf motor, so can everybody else. Now where's the competitive advantage that you just paid $50 or more for? My goal is to build something that is superior to the NML motor, despite the huge advantages he has (more experience, a comm lathe, etc.). Then and only then will I be satisfied. Oh, and I want to do it on 4 cells, too. Six cells is too easy, and doesn't work for anything but drag racing. These cars are top-heavy enough already. The only way I'll go six cell is if Slugbugg's chassis comes through.
