:ö: thanks Mazultav, i think the truck you were talking about is my 1/35 version of the Tamiya Bruiser?!, i used a tamiya mini-4wd tranny on it, with a 5:1 gear ratio and can be change ratio by changing gearsets using tamiya mini-4wd hop-ups, but the tamiya's gear ratio is still too high for my esc's ( i smoked my mini-z board and one futaba mc330 esc

). but most of the gearsets i use came from old toys, pullback, mini-4wd, wind-up, camera and other toys that usually my son don't want anymore

, you can use, mix and match those gears as long as they mesh properly

, one good source of gearset is a servo, normally used for steering on a 1/10 scale rc, it has a motor, gearsets and servo electronic board that can be modified to work as esc!... it's a 3 in 1 package for a small price! but there are also smaller servo too to choose from, though most of the hobbyshops sells servo gearsets for less than $2
hope this helps
