Is this an epoch clone like the discontinued viper? I doubt they're quite as god as epoch, but is it worth the $50?

Does anybody have one? If so, are they good, bad, indifferent?

And does anybody remember how long it was between when the introduced the viper, and when they slashed the price and discontinued it?
