I'm sure it's a TX2-RX2 set, or at least a clone of it, Zipzap, Z-Car and some Bit controllers will work on it, so I'd go with that.(all these have TX2-RX2 of some kind)

I could see a 1.0 or a 1.6 motor doing the 1:1 gear ratio, they have the most torque. If the board had the mosfet mod it would probably work. It would be almost the same as if the motor was connected...
