I did this yesterday to my clone, honestly I don't think it makes any range increase. Actually, I don't think it's a good idea since it makes the antenna much easier to rip out.

Are you going to use the Boost with it or not? From what I've read in the archives, it's not a good idea. A sqealing sound will come first and then the motor will blow. :(
