I'm not defending RS cause some of the cars are "lemons" but part of the "lemon factor" is people returning cars once they've "damaged or stripped" it themselves. Some RS's do try and resell them.

I did a dual on a clone and it seems to run better (faster, more torque) with my lower speed clone motors than with my 4.2 or Phast motors. Is it possible that the pcb will not work sufficiently...
