tri-cell problem, working but not quite

the battery pack is pumping out 3.6 volts just fine but it's limited to 1.75 volts at the motor. it's a champagne civic. plz help

would doing a no-reverse mod be enough to make it work?

sessiz10 03-16-2003 08:44 PM

I wouldn't suggest doing the no reverse mod. i'm really not sure why the motor isn't getting the extra volts. How are you testing the voltage?

TypeZer0 03-16-2003 10:58 PM

i'm measuring the motor contacts and its reading 1.75 volts.

That sound about right. If you test the car on a single cell, the final voltage to the motor is like way less than 1.2 volts. The PCB restricts some voltage to the motor. I guess, so it can run steering and receiver stuff.

really? is there any mod that would increase this voltage? wut exactly does the no reverse mod do?

TypeZer0 03-17-2003 12:08 AM

i just tested my dual cell that has the black cobra pcb and it's getting 2.49 volts at the motor

That's weird, Namuna tested some single cell cars and that's what he came up with.

TypeZer0 03-19-2003 12:08 AM

did a no-reverse mod and its getting a good 3.49 volts to the motor and it'll run any motor just fine except its still a little slower than my dual cell
