How are the LXX boosters?
I thought I got a deal on some clones, but it looks like a scam. No cars yet, and three days ago the negative feedback started pouring in.
So now I'm looking for another car to be the donor for a PCB swap. I'm looking at the LXX Modellistas. Their going for cheap from the Hong Kong sellers, and the booster appeals to me. I know some of you guys have these. How do you like them? |
i love mine, its amazing although i dont think even with the boost that its faster than a regular bit. but its still pretty good as a donor
|
I was real dissapointed with the lxx booster after I got a pro. For a donor it's excellent though.

i just ordered one from ebay for $7 and im gonna to a pcb swap with it into a zz chasis and then have 3 150mah batteries in it

isk8blind, same story here. We'll have to compare results.

Boost is a myth.
The "boost" system is just a limiter that allows the car to run normally, and runs it at half speed until then.. Booster cars are NO faster than regular ones. |
I bought a few from Toyeast. They're good deals, but they're definately not the same quality as a BIT Booster car. Quality varies greatly from car to car. Some are good and some are not so good. Like the Lotto. Stock out of the box my stock LXX 3.0 Auto Modelista booster had similar performance to my 2.2 350Z booster BIT. However, the LXX was significantly slower when I installed after market motors (3.8). The other surprise I got was that a Tomy 12:1 gear axle couldn't be installed on one of the LXXs because it was too narrow. I thought that LXX parts were interchangeable with BITS. The LXX's fit and finish is sloppy compared to the BITs. They make good donor cars, and of course installing dual or triple batts will rectify most of these shortcomings.

You can't beat the price
For the price of 2 legit bits, you can get 4 different frequecies with perfection 3.8 motors. I agree that the LXX turbo's do not have the same quality, but it's nice to be able to race 4 cars on a track. And for those of you who only have single speed bits, I have to say, that the two speed has a nice feel especially in challenging tracks. So if you have the money, buy the real thing. If you want to race 4 turbos for cheap, buy the LXXs.

And to answer the initial post, my LXX 35mhz auto modellista is not as fast as my 350z. But pretty close, it's worth the dollar savings tho. Also the controller isn't as nice, the up n down buttons aren't as firm. The paint job was pretty good too. But now that the micro pros are available I say go with those. |
strider the booster cars are faster. i have a 350z and with the booster its faster then my MS and all my clones (with the same 3.8 in them all) so BOOSTERS are faster and namuna had this thread on it and he proved there faster!
