dual cell
 

is the layman dual cell the best way to do a dual cell, id like to use it but i dont know who well it works, can anyone give me advie, information, aor how much it improves it?

To my understanding a laymans dual cell mod is not as powerful as a regular dual cell. The reason why the laymans dual cell mod is popular because it takes as much space as the stock battery does.

so does it give you more run time?

It's lighter and easier to do than a normal dual cell. You need a 4aa charger just like a normal dual cell. It doesn't last as long as a normal dual cell though. Top speed only lasts for like 30 seconds then starts to die down. Not quite as fast as a normal dual cell.

i just orderd a few accessories for the mod, 2 150 mah batteries, new antenna wire (cat 5) and i felt gracious and orderd a 3.8 engine from toyeast.com so i think it will go when i get it put together, no your suggestiong that i should do a reguaklr dual cell, and not the laymand, if so post a link with instructions if you dont mind.

The wiring diagram is at www.questformadness.com under 2.4v turbo. If those directions aren't enough, detailed instructions are at http://www.endlesswaltz.net/bdrift/2batt.htm. Sticking the battery out the back window is the best looking way.

The Layman tricell is easier, faster, and more fun. The Layman dual gets you great performance for 30 seconds. After that, performance goes down. Especially when you turn left or right. Standard dual gets you great performance for A LONG TIME!. In a Zip Zap, I think the only way to go is Standard (not Layman) 3 cell. It's The fastest, and has great run time. You can fit all 3 cells in the belly, so the center of gravity is fantastic.

my friend did a dual cell on my car but put both 150 mah batteries under the pcb board. it looks much better and handles better because the weight is balanced. however, if you make the slightest mistake in doing this, it could lead to problems i.e. i snapped the steering wires the first time lol he's fixing it now tho but it looks really nice since nothing is protruding from the shell.

That's what I'm saying about the "3-cell-in-the-belly" cars. The center of gravity is awesome. Click HERE and check out my 3 cell zaps, among other cars. They're the coolest.

By the way, have you guys tried the Epoch Indoor Racer? There's a forum for them on Tiny. If you like Zaps, you may like these. They're not too popular yet because they're so new, but they are 4" long and come standard with 3x 120mah cells. They are FULLY PROPORTIONAL and are like r/c Crack. You can do a 4 cell mod (internal) very easily, and they are freakin' fast. (4cell=10mph)

I know this doesn't belong, but I just wanted to share the joy that I have found in the Epoch. I want to see clubs and races, so I am trying to promote them as much as I can.
