i dunno about pinesol, it works but you still have to rub real hard to get it off with a rag or something.

my bits been sitting in pinesol for more than a month already lol too lazy to rub the paint off cause its still hard to get off!
bit char-A clones have tough paint

Spanky 03-11-2003 03:25 AM

Be careful that you don't take the plastic away with it. That stuff doesn't know when to stop eating...

okay i out my skyline body in the acetone and let it sit there for about 1 hour, well the paint did come off somewhat a tiny amount well actually non at all, the only thing that happened was the paint has transformed into goop, this good was like really hard putting or somehint my body is looking horrible, damn i dont know what to do, if acetone wasnt strong enough what will be???
This is a catastrophe

payaso 03-11-2003 03:00 PM

Now that the paint is softening, you need to scub it off. If you have some "Easy Off" that will help to take it off. Paint removal is never easy..

k i tryed to scrub
i used an old toothbrish and scrubbed but it wouldnt come off like that!
SHould i just scrap the car and go get a new shell? or keep trying?

payaso 03-11-2003 03:35 PM

Keep trying it. You will find your own technique. It will always make a test body.. Try scraping it with your fingure nail. Or use something more abrassive (tooth brushes are pretty soft)
but not too abrasice as you don't want to scar the body itself

ya, payaso is right. u ever c what acetone does 2 a girls fake fingernails? they soak them in acetone 2 remove the nails from their skin and when they remove the plastic nails they are all mushy. i would think acetone would be the wrong answer for bits.

Yep... He might be better off with some alchohol or paint thinner type products..

i used rubbing alcohol and q-tips... just kinda rubbed it offwith the tips.. soak the body in the stuff for like 5 min and then get the q-tip wet with thr alochol (cant spell) and start rubbing.. none of these things will just magically lift off the paint. you will have to rub a bit. however if the plastic is colored itsself chemicals will do you no good.

AUDI-TT 03-11-2003 05:58 PM

okay i found some thinner in my garage my car is soaking in it but when i checked 5 minuted ago, the paint hadnt been lifted or anything u guys are probably right no matter what i use i still have to rub it and scrub it alot, im gonna let it sit in the thinner overnight though since it hasnt done anything to harm the plastic.
