Fitting a tricell
I'm planning to do a tricell mod, but I want the 2 hanging batteries to fit with the body on through the back window. What is the best way to fit them? It's an RX-7 body so I don't know if that will change anything. Anybody know away on how it fits and it will still look farely normal? Pics please.

You may be able to get one out the back window, two may be hard.
|
put two in the chassis and one out the window.

has anyone ever put one out the windshield and one out the back window? hmm...it'll look ugly but...
|
stick the 2nd cell thru the rear window and sumhow attach the 3rd one on the rear bumper and pretend its a parachute ready to deploy. it's probably easier if u went out to find a kit racer and take the wheeliebar it has and either glue or screw the wheelie bar onto the bit chassis to support the 3rd battery as well as guide the wires into the bit

If you put one cell out the windshield, it would look weird. If you put one on the rear bumper, you wouldn't be able to keep the front wheels on the ground. If you make wheelie bars to hold it down, you still can't steer well, because the weight ratio is off. The best way that I have seen without grinding out the belly too much is put 2 cells side by side lengthwise directly over the rear tires. I think Bunta has some pics somewhere on the forum. I did this to an Impreza, but I heated up the back glass and it had two bulges, but was pretty cool.
A better way is to use a bB body and just put both cells under the cab. They fit just fine w/o the PCB cover. |
I found the link that I was thinking of, just click here

chelboed,
Do you have a pic without the BB body? How did you get the BB body to go on with 2 cells in the ****pit? I tried to mount my other BB body on, but it wouldn't fit. |

You have to take off the pcb cover and set 'em right on it. Make sure the batt's are insulated well so you don't short anything out. I also heated up the top of the cab and barely pushed it up to give it some breathing room. It works like a charm.

I have an RX-7 and I don't think I can do it the same way that chelboed did it because of the smaller body. One sticking out the back window is fine because that's how my dual cell is right now. The one at bitchar-g.co.uk, I wouldn't be able to have my spoiler on. Anybody else have any ideas? I liek the idea of putting 2 in the chassis and 1 out the window, but I can't figure out the how the wireing would be that way.

Is that what the silver Bb looks like from the MS Body set, the one with the silver one and the clear?
