Gearbox types...

Got a Q regarding the gearbox types and front suspension mod. I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the differences between the two different rear-ends are, besides one being floating and one not... if that's even the case at all.

I think it was slotsurfer (correct me if I'm wrong) who said that he had the W-Type gearbox w/ the floating rear suspension. I can only quess that the >>>-Type is fixed?! So I'm trying to confirm this. Because I'd like to add the sus mod to my Radi-Can EvoVI, which has a fixed rear end.

Thanks Guys

The only car I have with the floating rear end is the subaru WRC car.It stock item not a mod.I just looked at my Evo a nd it has fixed rear end.You could put the front end mod on it.

The only reason they use the gearbox indentifier is that the steering knuckles are different. I forget which is which but the kind that is not the WRC with has longer steering knuckles and sits higher (I belive the WRC is the type W and that is a lower chasis) Everything on the suspension kits is the same accept that one set of steering knuckles has longer pieces on it. I wouldn't advise trying to switch them.

Hmm that's a helpful bit of info, i wonder if the 2 chassis are 'modeled' the same?
If that's the case then I believe i've got a >>> type... ah what the heck they're only like $3 or $4 each, better off to get both front ends to leave no margin for error.

Thanks devedander, and welcome to the boards!

I believe the only difference in chasis is where the screws go.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
