What a surprise, another dual cell mod question
I'm not sure if anyone has asked/done this(If they have, feel free to delete this post, but please give a link first), but, is there a way to do a dual cell mod using two NiCd batteries without soldering? Because I want to do one, but I can't solder(my dad can, but I don't want him to). I also plan on making a charger too, but I'd like to first build the dual cell.... Thanks for your help, guys!

I think your a little out of the luck some soldering is required wether it be directly to the battery or to metal tabs its the best way to insure a good connection. If you still wanna try to attempt the dual cell mod you could follow the directions but instead of soldering try using elecrtrical tape. I dont recomend this though her is a link for directions http://foy.foy.com/minircmod/moddocs...attinstruc.htm
hope this helps |
couldn't you do the layman's battery mod thingy?

well, I went ahead an dual celled it. But, when i charge it, it runs SUPER SUPER slow. Yet, when on the charger, the wheels spin very rapidly... any ideas on what the problem is?

Use eletrical tape to put it together. That's what I did. It looks a lot better black instead of some weird little thing with writing on it sticking out your back window.

did u end up making a charger after you made the dual cell? i dont believe that they will charge correctly without a custom charger. to make my charger i went to radio shack and got box that hold 4AA batteries and has 2 wires coming off of it and my friends dad soldered the wires to the thing the car clips on that we took off of my controller. sorry if that sounds confusing but i dont no how to word some of this stuff.
also your problem might be due to using electrical tape instead of solder but i dont know. |
my problem was that my batteries in my controller were dead! lol duh! also, i did make a charger, I used an old CD player thing that plugs into an outlet, it works great!
