airplanes?
I have heard about modding these micro cars into planes? Has anyone done this?
|
A lot of people are working on this. I bought a motorworks clone just for making a plane.

Dang, I can't find the link now, but I saw an airplane mod on the net the other day.
Basically, they took a chassis apart, and Frankensteined it onto a balsa wood plane. They used the bit motor to power the propeller in front, used the steering coils to control the rudder in back (by mounting the magnet on the rudder, with the coils on either side), and I guess they put the battery and circuit board in the middle to balance it. Pretty clever, I thought. |
Airplanes are sweet
yeh this mod seems like its goin to be the next BIG thing, im workin on one my self, i saw one plane also that did use balsa wood, but one of those rubberband powered planes ! im not sure how many layman's mod batteries im puttin in that sucker.

I am probably going to make mine with "reinforced" styrofoam.

It looked like to me that the guy used one of those White wing airplane kits. I think you can get them at the Natural WOnder or nature stores at the mall or your hobby shop.

Ive been working on one also, Its slow goin though. These rhings are so much fun to race it's hard to find time to work on them!
