I called hobbico and the person said there will be a release of a new motor faster with more torque much like a 3.6

Thats really funny...remember Hobbico doesn;t know anything about what they sell. Ask them why a drift axle is something they should be using. and those dumb tires are for Bit Racers. I would say if hobbico claims to have a new motor Tomy would have it first.

Also you said the words "more torque" and 3.6 at the same time. as RPM's go up the torque will fall in a motor this size.

i have a few motors that beat the tomy 2.6 in torque and top end.
