BEST WAY TO MAKE CARBON FIBER(without decals or stickers)
 

okie dokie guys

all you need is black paint, clear coat of some sort, and a peice of cloth

first step is to paint your hood black

Wait for it to dry for about an hour(there is a moment when it FEELS dry, but if you apply pressure with your finger, your fingerprint will show, that is when you need to do this)

then you take that cloth(cloth of boxers works perfect) and press it against your hood

after you have engraved that carbon weave pattern into the hood, let it dry COMPLETELY

then put that clear coat over it, and VOILA! you got yourself a super cool carbon fiber hood, im doing this to my supra, so ill get pics sometime tonight or tomorow

would it not work just as well to put black paint on material and push on hood like sponge

Or use metallica black spray paint.

Sounds like a great idea! I wish I thought of that.

As long as no fuzz from the cloth gets in it, it should work out terrific.

interesting, but wouldnt lint get into the paint?
might want to use uhh...nylon windbreakers or shorts since that doesnt really leave any lint or strands wht so ever

ok first of all adding paint to make your car look like it is lighter is pretty much retarded.


try some gaffers tape. it is cloth tape that doesnt fall apart.

I think anyone doing a carbonfiber hood on a bit is doing it for the look and not for performance. If you use any material that isn't cotton based or blended, like polyester or nylon weave, you won't have a problem with lint. I really don't like the raw carbonfiber look on cars unless the car is a jet black.

Sometimes I like to eat a nice baked potato. I put chives and sour cream on it. Ummm, some bacon bits sounds nice. Yum...bacon bits.

how does having a miscolored hood make your car look good? real race cars with carbon fiber hoods dont do it for looks. they do it for weight. all that ricer stuff looks stupid to me.

I just super glue a piece of rice Chex (you know the cereal) to my hood.

It looks great and it's edible!!

well the whole thing may work, if your car is grey or a contrasting color, and the black is on thin enough that you go thru it tio the color under.
Otherwise, when you put the clear coat on, it'll just fill in the texture you just put on.

Why not get a really fin mesh , and paint thru that with an airbrush? Base coat of grey, then a coupple layers of black, making sure you get a pattren. I'd test it first on something else tho.
