ChronoQ ---> DigiQ
Has anyone converted a Chrono Q body onto a Digi Q chassis? Chrono's are so cheap!
|
The Takara pull-backs are actually called 'Choro-Q'
Yes, there have been people who've modded choros to digis...There's a whole japanese website dedicated to doing just that (which of course I can't recall at the moment). If you do some sleuthing on the net search engines you should be able to find some good info. |
I have talked to a few people who have done this mod. (They are called Choro Q cars, not chrono Q.) The car bodies sometimes require a lot of work to make them fit and they NEVER look as good as the real DigiQ Bodies. Also only certain bodies will fit, some may have the wrong size wheelbase. When you use a Choro Q body you have to cut a hole through the back window for the IR receiver and it looks aweful,not to mention that it provides no sheilding for the IR receiver so it can easily be broken off. Unless you can fabricate the entire rear of the car, you will have to cut the rear off of your digi and glue on to the choro Q. If you dont the body can not be attatched in the rear and this makes it very easy to break off. I had thought about trying the mod myself, BUT after I saw how crappy it looked if you didnt do it right and that it was VERY Breakable, I decided not to try it. Plus it would be a waste of a good DigiQ body. I dont recommend trying it.:( P.S. THIS MOD WILL NOT WORK ON THE "R" type CARS!
