Electric Scooters
Anyone have any of these? I've been thinking about investing in one for commuting.
I've been checking out the Xport SLX (aka HCF 707)...MAN! It's sweet! http://www.electric-scooters-electri...es/xls_204.jpg This thing is supposed to be able to handle a 235lbs. monkey (like myself), even up hills! |
You could try making your own out of a lead-acid battery and 2 600 size motors! Hehe, just a thought.
|
i wonder how many bits,zz,and clones would it take to pull a human? would it be like the little people and the jet?
|
i hve that scooter,its a sweet ride
|
I thought that if u was to put an engine on that and a gearbox from a motor bike, that'd b a laugh!!!!
Or even get a petrol scooter (the proper road legal ones, like a gilera or something) and strip it down! |
Well, the key factor in whatever Scooter I finally get is that is has to be foldable (to get on the train/bus).
The Xport so far seems to be the only scooter strong enough to handle a big fella (like myself) while still being foldable and therefore can be used for commuting. |
Remember the japanese go-kart in a briefcase idea. They made a few prototypes, but they were AWESOME.
Here in Michigan to commute you MUST use a car, our cab's are far a few between and not hail=able from the street. We have no major bus line. No trains for inter-city travel. No Subway...but we are the motor city and murder capital! |
Get a Go-Ped sport. You can mod the **** out of them! My friends tops at 45 mph. Pretty scary when you're goin that fast on 6 inch solid rubber tires. But you can get phnuematic (sp?) ones for a better ride. And just like you wanted, they fold for easier storage.
|
That Go-Ped Sport definitely looks like a little demon...But, it's gas and no seat. :(
I just need something that's: - Portable (can't be so big that it won't be allowed on a Bus or Train) - Electric (don't want to deal with gas) - Can handle a 235lbs. person |
Ya those little gas engines are loud as ****, specially with new air filters and new pipes. I know goped makes an electric scooter called a hover board cuz it rides so smooth supposedly, but I'm not sure if it has a seat. Get a Honda XR50!!! Tops at 40 mph, is very quite, and just like a motorcycle you sit on it. It's pretty sick, I got one that I race, but it's illegal onroad. Cops don't usually bother me if I'm in the bike lane tho.
|
Well, temptation got the best of me and I went ahead and bought the HCF-707.
Hmmmm, I wonder just how much voltage that little motor can handle! :) |

And COOL as hell too! I'm already breaking parts on it though! I bent this level (in half! ) when compressing it... |
