Check out my new toy...
I was too impatient to wait for the Bit and parts (see sig) to arrive, so I drove over to Wal-Mart and picked up this Planet Toys Motorworks bit-imitation.
I just got it today but immedatley took off all the decals, spaced the rear wheels out 3mm (total), put silicone on the gears, shaved the chasis so I could put the first gear as close to the motor as possible, painted part of the wheels black, and mangled with the antenna so it runs around the chassis once and then comes out. Not bad for $14, but I'm hoping my Bit Char-G w/ 3.8L will be faster (although from what I've read it won't be much faster!). -Cyrus |

Sweeeeeet!
Hey Vyrus,
Nice lookin' Motorworks clone! I just posted another thread, and you'll see that I've been looking for one of those babies for what seems like forever. Nice shell on that as well! Don't suppose you'd be interested in helping out a fellow bit-freak and picking one or two up for me? (I'll cover all your expenses) I own a few Shen's and another no-name bullet clone, and I think you'll see a distinct difference with the Tomy/Hobbico cars. Bits/Microsizers are the top of the heap when it comes to quality IMHO. Fit, finish, precision, and quality of components is just better all around. Don't get me wrong, my stock Shen screams, but it (like most every other clone) is sloppy and unreliable. Hats off to anyone who can get a cheap clone to track as straight as a Bit - but tell us how if you can!!! |

hehe cool I have that exact same one! It's pretty fast but not very high top speed. Not very good range...kinda jerky beyond about 4 or 5 feet. Steering is kinda hoaky too. Oh and I have the camo SUV thingie too...don't know what it is. The black one looks kinda like a 206 from the front but I agree with others the back end is different. Kinda looks Mercedes-ish.
Quick question for you there Vyrus...what camera do you have!? Those shots are very nice. |
Yes I agree strongly about the jerkiness, I took the knot out of the antenna and really didn't help. Maybe there is a crippler on these?
Thanks, it's actually a Sony PC-110 Digital Handycam taking still shots. :) -Cyrus |
