use really light coats or it will be thick. also goto an auto shop and get some detail caps or look on a grafitti site.

Yes, when I sprayed my microsizer body, I taped off the tail and head lights, and the windows. The only thing I did wrong was spray paint the body from the outside:eek: lol, let's just say that won't happen again. Luckily for me, it still turned out great( After a clear coat)!

i think your supposed to paint it from the outside... b/c of the thickness of the plastic.. its not lexan (those are spposed to be painted from the inside)

Cyber BRat 01-23-2003 07:58 PM

I paint all my cars on the outside. Then I clear coat them.

They come painted on the outside so why not paint them on the outside?

As the feedback on my Fast and the Furious skylines will show, spray paint is the way to go.

The hardest part is masking. Takes some paitence.

I dunno

well, I've been told to spray paint the clear bodies from the inside(obviously after i did mine, though)

that is more for the thinner bigger r/c bodies that are clearer.

I see....

Isn't there a special lexan paint that you're supposed to use?

Cyber BRat 01-23-2003 08:55 PM

I find certian brands stick better than others.

midget_man1387 01-23-2003 09:00 PM

I just used regular old model spray paint

shocon2k 01-23-2003 09:19 PM

I used a paintbrush, cuz I can't buy spraypaint at my college store for whatever reason, and can't really use it in my dorm. Let me tell you, it came out like SH!T. I am thinking I'll probably have to sand it down to a smooth finish and clearcoat it, but again, I will be whipping out the F*CKIGN PAINTBRUSH.

midget_man1387 01-23-2003 09:23 PM

I used a paintbrush for my rims, and they came out great. What was wrong with it? did you apply it too thick?
