well, my motor sounds like it is about to explode, and I need help on what I should do about it. It's a 1.0 and I've had it for about 3 weeks.

sounds........awful.......my sounded worse, it sounded like a kid screaming.......

anyways, it sounds like its dirty or something, why don't you try to clean it or maybe lube it......

i hear axles, that may be your idler gear making that noise.

PWalk 01-20-2003 05:23 PM

sounds like a gear to me, lube them or just go buy a new motor.

There are no gears on it at all, not even the gear that goes on the motor, and it sounds the same even when all gears are on. I've been thinking of dunking it in rubbing alchohol, but I wonder if there is another way to lube the motor. (It is NOT the gears that squeak.)

It sounds like dust in the space where the piece of metal that turns the first gear meets the outside of the motor.

stevensmd3 01-20-2003 06:20 PM

if it was me i would have thought it was a gear

Superimport2nr 01-20-2003 06:31 PM

try lubing

Pietak440 01-20-2003 06:41 PM

what lube would you suggest?

Superimport2nr 01-20-2003 06:57 PM

graphite or VASELINE

hehe, im just kidding about the vaseline(that'll kill the car)

yu should use graphite lube or some sort of WD40

When my motor was making awful sounds....a combination of WD-40 and baby powder worked for me

I sprayed the WD-40 where the shaft meets the brass bushing and dunked it in babypowder afterwards....

just make sure that you don't go overboard and coat the whole thing in WD-40 or else dirt and more crap will stick to it....

JTM 01-20-2003 08:23 PM

that quote, i put buisness and with backwards, lol...

sounds like a bearing place is dry. when these motors die its hard to fix them. 1.0s are cheap. if you want another one you can get one cheap here-

along with lots of other (faster) motors. yes.
