R-spec Vs bitmod 3.5?

i know the r-spec is meant to be faster than the bitmod 3.5 but can anybody that has both motors compare the two's pros an d cons also which of the two is more durable and fastest after a lot of runs.

well for one the rspec has been out a few weeks so nobody can answer that. i dont have a 3.5 to compare but the rspec absolutly screams. its not a torque monster but has more torque than a tomy 2.6 and once its moving about 3 foot it really opens up.

i was dissapointed in my r-spec on the first run then i ran it down and broke it in like 2 times and it rocked. i didnt really notice any difference in torque from the stock bit motor but when i got it on the carpet i could tell cuz it could barely start. but after it gets moving it wont stop. he he. mine also was shipped in 3 days which was quit impressive. i suggest everyone pick one up.

When posting reviews on any motors, it would be great if everybody could include the type of chassis it was tested in, (clones or bits) and which gearing they used. And mods if any...

Thanks

ok breaking it in seems to improve somewhat but my motor goes in fwd a lot easier than reverse. after running on no load today it seems to have improved.

i gota say if you got a large wood or linolium floor and like to drag race this is your motor. im gona start making some video comaparisons this weekend.

do u think the r spec will work in a zz?

hogjowlz 01-17-2003 08:48 AM

ya if you either ad another battery or disable reverse. if you have a zz you may as well buy a real car before spendin cash on a good motor.

hogjowlz 01-17-2003 12:19 PM

Is R-Spec worth the money?

hogjowlz 01-17-2003 12:46 PM

it depends. if you use your car a lot and have fun i guess it is. it is way faster than any other motor i have. its torque is acceptable for how fast it is.

STAY ON SUBJECT!

lol. stay on the subject please. I am deciding on which motor to buy (R-spec or bitmod1 3.5), so I came to this forum, but I got no help. This post is about how the 3.5 and R-Spec compare, not how well the R-Spec works. Just a reminder! :D

Well, my 3.5 died after a week or two, and my R-spec is in the mail. Something tells me it was well worth it.

Pojo 01-21-2003 07:19 PM

Go with the R-spec. Bitmod 3.5 is more expensive, and it takes more than a week to arrive, even in North America!
