My 2.2 has gotten gradualy slower!

even after cycling and maticulously cleaning it just seems to be slower all the time should i take apart the motor and if so how?

might be just better to find a target around here that still has the hot wheels kit racers for $1.98, and get that for either the 2.2 or 2.6 motor that comes with it.

well the problem may not be the motor. For example, today i found one of my bits to be really slow, so I opened it up and found that the axle was really loose, so I pushed in the wheels and it worked fine,

Yeah, you should get a KIT racer, as long as you don't go to the Target in my home town.

Some kid came in and bought out the entire stock of KIT racers, all like 30 of them.

Way to be a selfish asshole and ruin it for the rest of us....jerk.

Target told Shanly that they won't stock KIT racers anymore either.

About a month ago I had a problem with a MS 2.2 from my LHS, and it too exhibited problems with speed. It would run very slow for the first 20 sec. and gradually pick up speed, but still not as fast as my Bitracer 2.2 that I picked up 8 months ago. So anyway back to the point, I returned it as defective and got another one... again the darn thing was acting in the same manner. So it turned out the whole batch was defective.
Another possibility with the motor is that quality control has gone down in production. Because I have yet to get another 2.2 as fast as the first one I've got.

I have seen the same thing with 2 MicroSizers. Both started out working well. Then, after maybe 10 to 15 runs, they started to slow down noticeably. I tried cycling with both and it did not help.

I replaced the motor in the first one with a 2.2 from a Hot Wheels KIT racer and once again the car was fast. I called Hobbico and described the problem and they sent me a new 2.2 motor--which turned out to be slower than the defective original motor. I have not called them about the defective motor that they sent me. I reinstalled the KIT racer motor and all is well.

I replaced the motor in the second one with a 2.6 KIT racer motor and it is running very well. I have not called Hobbico yet about the second one.

It does seem that quality control is poor with these motors.

Man you guys are some helpfull mother-truckers. I really appreciate the info and all the replies. What a great forum. Thanx everyone, I'll look for the kit racer at target, but I've never seen them. wish me luck!:D

i'm not sure if you'll find the kit racers at target anymore. last time i checked, they were completely out. but you never know, you might get lucky and find a few left.
