Call me cheesey, but it's been a dream of mine since 3rd grade to build a hot wheel sized R/C. Using a slot car as a base I always found it impossible, mostly because the motor took up all the space.

Then back in October I'm checking out the Tower Hobbies website, and I see the Microsizers... It's too good to be true, they are not only tiny, but you can hop them up. I knew I must have, but I was tight on money at the time.

So now tiny cars are every where, and I finally get a hold of a couple, and then I discover tons of guys like you guys, with your dual and triple batteries, dual motors, PCB mods, etc. etc. It's great, it like heaven to me.

With DKS coming out with a ball diff soon, and I had seen a post somewhere of a guy who was working on adjustable front linkage, I can't help but to think about what could be. What if a company like HPI started making after market parts like they do for larger scale cars. Could you imagine graphite chassis, with anodized machined aluminum rear pods, that allow you to adjust chassis tweak? Maybe some aluminum hubs that carry tiny bearings?

I can't wait to see what could happen next.

Anyway, I doubt micro RCs will get high end parts support from companies like HPI. The chassis is so imprecise that stuff like a ball diff probably wouldn't perform any better than the OEM parts.

Well with all the inventions and technology today has to offer it can be possible. Maybe not tomorrow but maybe in the next few years! If someone gets a big company like HPI to make one and make some optional parts with it, it will go big. Think about it a big company will do anything that is hot and will go big and even bigger with after market parts. Like the micro rs4. I don't know about you guys but I think it is possible.

That would be like putting a spoiler on a front-wheeler. Overkill. I just want some higher motors so i can flip and crash more:)

I can understand where you're coming from.
I never could justify spending the cash on regular RC stuff.
I'm 36 now, and the low cost of these little cars means that EVERYONE can play now, it's great!

I want the ball diff. NOW!!!

ummmm....are you sure that the ball diff. is for bits, cause I just when to the DKS website and it said........

Ahhh, dude I'm sorry I missed the Mini-Z part. I'm bummed now. I could see how a ball diff would be feasible, and even help steering in high traction situations.

I whole-heartedly agree, but I think the R/C hobby is all about excess, and that's what makes it fun. Even in 1/10th scale you know that the graphite chassis isn't going to win the race for you, but you have to it anyways, because it's there, and it's cool.

Exactly! That's precisely where I'm at. After investing over a grand in my Losi XXT, and then spending another 500-600 bucks on a 2-speed RC10 DS destined to break 50mph (and I'm pretty sure it did), I just couldn't justify it anymore, sold it all, and bought another guitar. I had been missing the R/C hobby, and there let's me connect on a much smaller level. Heck, I haven't even spent a 100 bucks yet, and my third car is in the mail.

Yeah, I just watched "Steal This Movie" the other day, and had that line stuck in my head. Good line.
