The problem I had was a contact problem. Try pointing the contact on the motor towards the front of the car. (the little metal tab on the motor) I found that helped.

LoL what did I tell ya Pie?

AzNRocket 01-11-2003 01:14 PM

same problem here too...> _ <. I'm stuck using a 2.6 K.I.T. racer motor. I guess i'll be ordering an R-Spec soon..

Pojo 01-11-2003 01:17 PM

R-spec seems like a good choice...bitmod1 charged me 16.50 for a 3.5

Did you try puting a razor blade under the metal tab and bend it up a little bit so it gets better contact? That helps alot of times. Try that.

heh pojo, you were right... =P

im gonna go back to the store sometime and see if i can get it exchanged ... cuz MTL's works fine... so there's GOtta be some good 3.0s

yeah, i tried bending the tab, stuffing tin foil back there, cycling it for like an hour... but still, no dice.....

oh hey pojo, where u live? could i buy a motor off you? :D

Pojo 01-11-2003 02:38 PM

Hehe...sorry I don't have any spares...but I suggest either going back to your LHS, or ordering motors that aren't meant for bit racers.

nrmcj 01-11-2003 02:41 PM

oh... thx..

blehhh!! they only stock tomy stuff.... and if i order something the border taxes, shipping, and exchange rate is gonna rape me...

hmmmm.. i was thinking bitmod 3.5.... but i hear the r-spec is even better...

Pojo 01-11-2003 02:45 PM

Well, I'm a Hoser too, but I didn't get any flack from border taxes...ToyEast is excellent with getting out of those...as for shipping and exchange, bitmod1 rammed me. I got charged $20 our dollars for a friggin 3.5!!!

nrmcj 01-11-2003 02:47 PM

hmmmmmm 20 american?! that's like 30 here... i could buy a clone and eat it for parts!

toyeast... cheap shipping/charges?

Pojo 01-11-2003 02:50 PM

I'M A HOSER TOO...LOL that means $20cdn. Still that's a huge ripoff just for a good engine, and it took a week or so to come from the USA. As for Toyeast, as long as you order stuff in substantial bulk, shipping won't rape you.

nrmcj 01-11-2003 02:59 PM

oh... okay okay.. i understand now :D

my 3.0 cost like... 15 bucks so it's close enuf..

hmmmmmm.... if i wanted a r-spec it'd cost me hella lots .... 17 canadian, plus shipping... ><"

must... fix....3.0.......

Pojo 01-11-2003 03:03 PM

Bah, do whatever you want...but you have been warned....
