K.I.T. battery for mod

hey i just bought one of those K.I.T. hot wheels kits for spare parts and i was wondering if i could use the battery from it in a dual cell mod for my bit?

thanks

I don't see why not. I put the kit racer battery in one of my bits and it worked fine. I plan on doing a 3-cell mod on my ferrari clone :-)

Hi Guys, are the K.I.T batteries the same size, you know 1/3 aaa?
Thanks in advance...

The batteries for the KIT racers are fully compatible with the Bit racers. In fact if you look on the battery it says Tomy. I installed one in my clone, and it ran just perfect. The KIT's are a good way to get spare batteries, tires, and a 2.6 motor all for under $5 at your local target in the discount isle. You can also use the rear whells of the KIT if you trim off about 1/2 of the nub on the inside of the rear rim. If you have questions, I'll try and help you.

they work perfect. Look at my tri-cell Ferrari!

Man does that thing fly? Did you use the front bumper on the KITs for the rear of your Bit? Looks sweet man.

I did use the front bumper thing. You just screw it to the bottom. You have to use a very small screw. I did not have any of these so I super glued it.

How did you mount the batteries, and did you solder the wires to the batts? Thx in advance.

Aaronmamo 01-07-2003 06:05 PM

I did solder the batteries togethe. I did not glue the batteries or secure them to the wheelie bar (KIT bumper). The way the wires are held then on the wheelie bar with no problem. They don't move around unless you yank on them.

What about charging? Doo you have a separate charge pack, or do you just charge longer? Sorry for all the questions :)

It is ok about the questions, it is a forum, questions are very welcome. I did have to make my own charger but that is tommorows prodject. I alredy have one but I need to make another becasue the connections are bad on my other one. You need a 4 aa battery holder from radio shack. Then you use the car mount on the charger and hook up the 4 aa holder to it. Go to the mod/prodject forum and look around. THere are instructions somewhere
Seeeya!

hmmmmm...... i think you need a 6AA Battery Holder..........

if you have Dual Cell Mod, then you get 4AA Battery Holder and charge for 90 secs

if you have Tri-Cell Mod, then you get 6AA Battery Holder and charge for 135 secs

2 AA's per every 1 car battery

i think this is how the cycle works....... you only have one battery on your car, so therefor you only have 2 AA's in your controller....... I dont know if this is how it goes exactly, but thats my theory ( I aint no rocket gynocologist ) ............. l8r

Aaronmamo 01-07-2003 07:42 PM

Do you know where you can my 6 aa holders. I have never seen them

rallger 01-08-2003 04:54 PM

well i know there are three battery holders.....
so if you were in a bind you can wire 2 together

rallger 01-08-2003 04:56 PM

oh and how much torque (sp?) does the 2.6 from the k.i.t. have?
