3.8??

I just got a 3.8 and it's not what I thought it would be. After 3 consecutive charges it started getting slow. And torq is very slow. My 2.6 K.I.T motor on a bit from hotwheels beats it on a 4 feet drag race. I just thought I would give some newbes some info before they get a 3.8 motor which only last a few charges. Whats a motor when you can't even use it? So I would recommend a 2.6 or a 3.0 for the newbes.

Before you automatically assume that all 3.8s act like that, how's about giving us more detail?

- What gearing are you using?
- 4 feet isn't exactly a Drag Race...Try 20 or 25
- The 3.8 is about SPEED, not torque/acceleration
- A Motor last much longer than a few charges, you might be having troubles with yours

Also you need to break it in!

Ive noticed that, run it with no pressure on the tires (upside down) for 3 full charges first, then run normally.!

Namuna,

That's a great reply. I personally believe that the 3.8 is the best motor out there for the Bit Char-g cars. 3.8s are low torque/high speed motors, so 4 feet is not a fare distance to judge it against a higher torque 2.6 motor. Especially if your car isn't tuned to "like new" form. The 2.6 can power through excess friction like hair in the axle, but the 3.8 will have more trouble. Also, In every batch of motors that are produced (no matter what the speed), there are some defective motors. Usually about 1 in every 15 motors will have a small defect that is undetectable until the motor is run for an extended period of time. Most sellers understand this and will quickly replace any defective motors with new ones. So, if your's isn't working right, return it for a new one that does. I personally don't see how you can lose with a 3.8 motor.
