what a rip off this is....
this looks like someone ripped apart a network cable and pulled out the cat5 strands.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3100018033 This is what cat5 network cable looks like to all those who don't know.......... |
LOL what a moron. Some people try to sell anything to turn a quick buck.
It looks a little like telephone wire to me, but it probably is cat-5. |

there's a ton lying around at school...haha
i asked the worker guy if i can have some (i wanted like....2 inches) and he gave me 2 feet haha |
yo im not kidding, i have about a 30-40 foot piece right next to me that me and my brother keep choppin up for new antennas...

cat5 and cat5e are both solid core.
the difference is: This is the newest version of CAT5 cables, formally called ANSI/TIA/EIA 568A-5 or simply Category 5e. CAT-5e is completely backward compatible with current Category-5 equipment, and Category 5e will operate at up to 350MHZ, instead of the 100MHZ of standard CAT 5 cables. The enhanced electrical performance of CAT 5e ensures that the cable will support applications that require additional bandwidth. For applications such as Gigabit ethernet or analog video over CAT 5E cables, you should certainly consider using CAT 5e over CAT 5 cable. All aspects of perforamnce are enhanced: capacitance, frequency, resistance, attenuation, imedance, and NEXT. |
no you are right, i stand corrected. my apologies. i thought i had a cat5e and a cat5, but they are both cat5e.
question?? how would cat6 work on these bits?? |
Ok im the "moron" who listed the auction. It was done not to try and rip anyone off but to give them a way to get some antenna wire since people kept asking where to get it. Considering I cut a bunch of this into equal lengths stripped and soldered them together I didnt think 2 bucks was to much. But I sure dont want to be though of as trying to get rich selling wire for 2 bucks on e-bay so im gonna end the auction. THE END :D
|
hey if i get one of those big antenna towers that people used to have in their yards and hooked it up to my bit, would it give me more than a 4 mile range? i cant deal with only 2 miles.

Quick question for you guys...How far are you all driving your cars? Why does it matter that Cat 5e is better than Cat 5 (Which it is). Both of those cables are big and bulky. You all need to try some solid 26 or 28 AWG wire vs. the 24 AWG of Cat 5 & Cat 5e. Unless you are trying to break the record for the longest controlled distance...weight and maneuverability should be your #1 concern. This is my opinion and I hope no one takes this the wrong way.
