My new set arrived...

My new auto modellista set came in. This is my first micro r/c. pretty much my first R/c since i was a lil sh*t.

Although i assumed the hardware would have a lil more quality to it most everything else was just as expected. what is this thing ebayers always advertise as "the remote control evolves..." blah blah blah?

I cant wait to start modding this things. I'm glad i got a boosted car cause it would be impossible to control on my kitchen floor with out low speed.

So do the cars hold up pretty good to abuse, ive already had mine mangled by my cat and driven off tables onto hardflors but it seems to be fine.

can someone tell me what the itty bitty red unconvered wires are under the computer? im afraid to rip one so i didnt dig any deeper than that

my range is about 6-8 feet, really crappy, guess ill have to do some research into that.

Those small wires are the ones that control the steering magnets in the front end. If you don't want a serious headache... do NOT break them in half...

I did that to my first car, ended up trashing the thing because I'd solder it back together, it'd break in another spot and keep breaking. I just got fed up and bought my Fairlady.

Trust me, if ya know what's good for you, don't break 'em.

As always,
Yaksha

any others answer to my other questions?

evolving controllers?

and another thing, i noticed that it looks like the clear computer cover rubs the rear passenger side tire, um, its hard to tell but is it suppose to be that close?

oh, and i could not find my cripple cap so i assume its on the other side of my board but it looks like i have to do some soldering to flip it over. anhone else have this problem?

Pojo 12-15-2002 02:30 AM

To flip over you controller board just unscrew it! :D

Procrastinator 12-15-2002 01:11 PM

but i cant because there are wires soldered to the top half of the controller, limiting my screwdriver space. and i dont solder. not yet atleast.

Pojo 12-15-2002 01:23 PM

Well of course there are wires, gumby! Trust me on this, just unscrew the board, and flip it as much as you can. If there's wires soldered to the front, then that's one weird controller.

Procrastinator 12-15-2002 01:29 PM

There are wires everywhere, i cant barely move the top half more than an inch or two has it is because of these wires, unless i have a half inch long screw dirver im gonna have to slice and splice some wires.

Pojo 12-15-2002 02:15 PM

Ummmm I think there's something queer (odd) about your controller, then. :(

Procrastinator 12-16-2002 04:48 PM

could it be because i have a booster set (auto mod) that comes with the boost controller (extra shoulder button for speed #2)

cowfish_29 12-16-2002 06:42 PM

if i remember right, the booster sets don't have cripple capacitors anyways...

Procrastinator 12-16-2002 10:34 PM

lol now someone tells me! anyone confirm this?

shocon2k 12-16-2002 10:47 PM

www.questformadness.com has all you need to know about boosting your range (mine is now 28 feet) and just about every other mod you would ever want to do. I've been there a buncha times and read every single mod, and I'm just itching to do them all!

Procrastinator 12-17-2002 10:55 AM

I'll have to look into those mods. Problem is, I don't want to sacrifice dependability or portability.
