Finally got a bit. but have problems

i just got a bit from a chinese mall. it is the 27mhz skyline.
I opened it and assembled, it. I fount that i get about 6 feet, with the antenna, woobling all over the place. Then i tried to find the criplle cap but broke the pcb cover! on no, where is the cripple cap? and anyone have an extra pcb cover? please???

rza 12-12-2002 07:58 PM

dude, the cripple cap is in the controller, not the car. some controllers don't have it.

Pojo 12-12-2002 08:30 PM

Uhhhh, no. In some cases there are caps on both car and controller.

rza 12-12-2002 08:34 PM

but my understanding was the easier of the mods is to do the one in the controller...

MicRoMaN 12-12-2002 08:40 PM

Look at www.questformadness.com , but im not sure where you can get an extra pcb cover, sorry.

Pojo 12-12-2002 08:46 PM

The easier one is to take apart your whole damn controller for a crip cap that may not be there. In theory, this may seem like the easier mod, however if you have a soldering iron and a tiny bit of experience then the cap on the car is incredible easy, and if it's not there it's not a big deal to clean up. By the way, QFM is a fantastic site for any mods you're planning on doing.

My bad, I stand corrected.

pakiplaya 12-12-2002 09:15 PM

i dont know squat bout soldering. I dont even know how one looks like? tell me what i should buy, and how it works, and how to remove the bugger

bill 12-12-2002 10:05 PM

If you don't know anything about soldering, don't try it on your car. Really. Don't do it.

aero 12-12-2002 10:26 PM

not to be rude, but how do we know he really got a car this time and he's not just saying he did so he can ask the same questions all over again without anyone getting on his case?

you dont need a pcb cover...pssh i broke mine a long time ago already...all u need is tape

dont solder without experience..or youll burn something

Pojo 12-12-2002 10:35 PM

Experience Shmerience. I was pretty much a first time solderer and I removed my crip cap no problem. 30ft of range gained!

pakiplaya, i'm also new at bits i've just got my bit 2 dats ago, i did also broke the pcb cover, not the whole cover but just the one of the two clicks on the sides .. so it doesn't matter, i killed of the crip cap from my pcb and controller, for the crip cap on the controller check in www.ausmicro.com , for the crop cap in pcb check in www.questformadness.com

pakiplaya 12-13-2002 05:32 PM
