Carpet racing tires
Hey guys...this is my first forum post!
Well anyway, I just got a bit and I've had a R/C Traxas truck for a while. I remember that at the race tracks, they used foam tires for the trucks on carpet. My point is, I found these pencil grips called "pencil pillows" around my house and I cut em to size and tried them on the bit. I found they work a heck of a lot better than the rubber tires on carpet. Anyone else tried this? I'll put some pics of the stuff up when I get my camera set up... |
i've heard about using pencil/pen pillow things for tire but never tried it. I'll pick some up next time i'm by Staples.
At work, we have the industrial thin carpeting. I use the hard tires on the front and stretch out FRONT MEDIUM tires on the back. Work great! |
This is a really random idea but has anyone tried to wrap their tires with magnet tape? If I had some I'd try it (I dunno how strong the tape is), but it might be cool to see the car work on refrigerators, metal sheets, or upsidedown.

Here's the pictures if anyone cares...
Also, if you make these, be sure that you cut them Precisely!!! It took me a few tries to get them right, if you don't they'll be really bumpy... nice rally effect though. |

It's hard to see the texture of the grips in the pictures, but they're the foam kind incase you can't tell
