my cars antenna broke
 

the antenna broke, i had extended it by untieing it from under the pcb for increased range. It snapped off at the base. I think i need to desolder the little bit and then solder in a piece of cat5 cable (this is a mod i wanted to do anyway, now its just a little harder). Has anyone else had to do this?

ya just solder it back on. better yet use brand new wire. cat5 if you want.


they tied that knot for a reason.

I soldered a piece of CAT5 to the antenna node and it worked great for 2 charges then the steering stopped working right. It can turn right but not left. The steering wires look OK. :mad:

Make sure the front wheels are free of hair and lint. That's always my problem with my hardwood floors. If that's not it, make sure you haven't picked up anything magnetic that may be stuck and hidden to the bottom of the chassis. Can you turn in both directions when you have the car off the floor?

You were right, I found a small piece of metal above the alignment tool under the car. Scraped it off with a knife and now it works.
