I got a 3v lithium battery for my bit

i just found a fully charged 1/2 AA lithium battery in a box around the house. How long do you think it will last? (its not lithium ion, it cant be recharged)

Lithium Ion and Lithium batteries are the same thing. They usually last about 2-3 years. Is there an expiration date on the battery itself?

they arent the same (i dont want to start to argue). Lithium ion and Lithium are like Akaline duracell and Rechargable Duracell. Lithium are single use. back to the topic. I meant, how long do lithium last when being used?

I know what you're talking about. The life of the battery depends on how much current you're drawing on it, and the capacity of the battery itself. If it's a 500mah battery, you can expect about an hour of use or so. But it's quite expensive to use it since they're about $3 a shot. Also, running 3 volts through the motor originally designed to run on 1.2 for long periods of time will shorten the life dramatically. You may want to consider using a larger heatsink on the motor if you plan to run that long. Just remember to take the battery back out when you're done driving it, as the pcb continues to draw current when the controller is off.
