*~Contradictions...which one is REALLY faster?~*
i'm getting mixed stories. can someone who has BOTH of these motors tell me which one is faster?
3.8 or zip zap NOS? the zip zap nos seems to be a better deal since u get a ton of stuff for like 15 bucks. but in the end, which one is faster? |
For a stock zip? Get the NOS. The 3.8 won't have any torque with the PCB the way it is. That motor requires a lot of juice and the Zips just don't punch that out.

no, in a dual cell bit char-g lol

Then put two 3.8's in, you'll be fine. You must be the Kurt Busch of Micro racing. :)
[edit] I really can't tell you which one is faster, just a comparison to what I've bought and tried. Right now my fastest motor is the NOS. But, the 3.8 is supposed to be the fastest on the market and if you have the juice to pump it, then that's what I'd get. Put it to you this way. If there was a difference, I can't see it being by that much. Don't forget the 3.8's are easier to come by too. :) |
Dont know if this will be much help, But I recently got my first bit ( www.angelfire.com/biz3/Kajoq1/skyline2000.JPG aint she a beut?) And the seller on Ebay dropped in a 3.0 for me, Well... I had heard all the talk of how fast the ZZ motors are, so i dropped in the 2.15 Turbo ZZ motor (didnt have a NOS on hand) Good Lord. It was sooo much faster than the 3.0 and had sooo much more torque. I honestly wouldnt be suprised if the NOS was faster than the 3.8, but dont have a 3.8 to test with.
