I just got my Wild Char-G! (Pics inside)

One of the above pictures shows the Battle Arena I ordered as well. The Wild Char-G is really slow though, I know its for the traction and small arena is rides in. Since it is slow, its VERY nice and easy to control.

I'll post some pics of the PCB and inside once I finish running it for the night. :D

Well, like I said, its slow... Same controls as the Bit Char-G's but with the extra "boost" button at the top which is used to move the front claw up and down. When you turn it almost stops the truck and makes a tight 90 degree turn!

Under the black cover (held in place by 2 screws) is an array of like 3-4 gears which drive the rear wheels of the car. The battery in wrapped in foam for protection I guess and the funny part is the steering coils are located in the center of the car!

Was the Battle Rally Course worthed to buy it?

I think it was, though I'd only buy it if you have someone to race with. The middle portion spins (via a "C" battery). I like it though, I think the truck alone is nice, but you really need the arena to understand why the truck goes as slow and turns so sharp as it does.

Weird... in irc's review the steering was done digi style, hmmm unless the coils are used to activate some kind of diff. to assist in the steering and power transfer.

As you can see the steering coils are near center. Also the Wild Char-G requires TWO motors. One is located on the back (the right hand side of the picture which is removed) and one motor attached to the center of the cover plate next to the pinion gear.

Edit: The second motor attached to the cover plate in the center is used to drive the front claw up and down.

Hmm looks like my theory may be correct, can't wait until mine comes so I can confirm.

Your right. I noticed the reason why the steering is nice and tight for almost perfect 90 degree corners is because when I make the turns, the car cuts it speed by half automatically.

Now tell me that would not be an awesome feature to have in a Bit Char-G. Have a dial for adjustable speed on cornering. I actually was planning on creating a circuit that when pushing left or right on the controller, it would decrease the voltage to the motor. I guess Tomy beat me to it!

PS This truck climbs onto and around my keyboard with EASE! :D

are the bodies interchangeable with bits? (if they are, i suggest the clone hummer body :))

Those are some pretty beefy gears inside there. It looks like that's the cause of the low speed. It needed to be geared down more to move those large wheels. How much wider is the Wild char-g from a regular bit? It looks larger than the pics.

dose it have alot of touqe? do the front wheels turn or its like a digi q? it dont look like there's any suspension is there?

Nope. It seems like the body need another .3-.5" to fit. Maybe with a little grinding down of the tabs on the frotn and back it might fit.

From one tire across to the other (including wheel width) its about 1.25" on a Bit Char-G. Again, including wheels, its about 1.78" on the Wild Char-G. Also, the wheels on a BC-G are about 1/8" and the WC-G is between 1.4" and 3.8". The WC-G tires are indeed rubber and NOT plastic like it looks like.

I'm not sure how a Digi-Q turns; I don't have one. I can ask my brother who does though. There is front suspension though, the wheels independantly go up and down slightly. I will open the front end when I get home from work tonight and take some more pics.

I hope I'm helping some of you decide on this vehicle -- I think its a great new toy for us all ... it just a tad different from a BC-G with a 3.6 in it! :D
