Are ALL 2.6's equal??

I'm looking at ordering a 2.6 motor today, and I've found 3 different ones that should all be authentic:

1) Tomy Bit Char-g 2.6
2) Tomy Bit Racer 2.6
3) Microsizers 2.6

Is there ANY difference (besides price, and the pinion gear, I know I need a black gear) between these three motors, particularly between the Bit Racer and the Bit Char-g ones?

*BUMP* Anyone? C'mon, I wanna buy TODAY! :)

Get the hotwheels KIT. Very fast supposidly more then the tomy for either the char g or the bit racer. I have it and love it. You just have to put it in with the tap at 9 o'clock not 3 or atleast I had to do that.

Kenkudaki 11-22-2002 03:58 PM

What IS that? Is that another kind of motor? Also, Hotwheels KIT aside, could someone answer my original question? Are the 3 that I listed EXACTLY the same in speed/quality/etc?

Kenkudaki 11-22-2002 04:21 PM

Ok, I did my searching, and it appears that KIT Racers are the American version of Bit Racers, just like Microsizers are the American version of Bit Char-gs. So then theoretically, the KIT Racer 2.6 and the Bit Racer 2.6 should be EXACTLY the same (performance wise), correct? And the Microsizer 2.6 should be exactly the same as the Bit Char-g 2.6 also, correct? SO, the question is: Which is better, if any? Do they all perform the same?

cowfish_29 11-22-2002 05:17 PM

well...it may seem weird...

but the american KIT racer motors are supposed to be better than the japanese bit racer ones. At least, lots of people say so.

The bit racer 2.6 motors are for the most part...unstable

never even seen one made specifically for the bit char-g..but i dunno if they would have changed anything.

tifosi_ms1 11-22-2002 05:57 PM

My KIT has been running for a month or 2. Yeah the mircosizers are the bit char g of america. They are not clones in anyway just renamed bit char g s. The KIT racer is the same story. Infact the KITracer has tomy logos all over it so hotwheels got the molds straight from them with the copyrights.

Kenkudaki 11-22-2002 06:06 PM

Alright, so how do the Microsizer 2.6s stack up?

d00kie 11-22-2002 07:01 PM

Kenkudaki, your avatar scares the hell outta me!!! Are you of any resemblence to the weirdo in the avatar? :D

I would say go with the one that is the same brand as your car e.g. a Microsizer should be paired with the Microsizer/bit Char-G motor just to be on the safe side.

cowfish_29 11-22-2002 08:25 PM

not nessicarily... I would go with the one that runs best...They all have identical proportions.

Kenkudaki 11-23-2002 01:14 AM

So...if they're all identical, then how can one run better than the others?

alpha1 11-23-2002 02:58 AM

Due to the manufacturing process, you will have to probably go through about 10 motors to find 2 identical ones. There is usually a variance between motors which is perfectly acceptable as far as quality control is concerned. In other words, 2 different 2.6 motors from either a KIT car or Bitchar-G could vary. Just because they are in the same type of packaging, doesn't make them equal in performance. You can have one that spins at 2.4, one that spins at 2.6, and yet another one that spins at 2.8. You just can't control tight tolerances like that unless the motors are hand-built.

Kenkudaki 11-23-2002 03:09 AM

So basically, it doesn't matter which one I buy, as long as it's one of those four (Microsizer, Bit Racer, Bit Char-g, or Hotwheels)?

Blue Bit 11-23-2002 03:59 AM

a bought a Bit Char-g 2.6, and still the stock 2.2 that came with my AE86 was faster.
