What should I get?

I'm looking for help about buying my first mini-rc.

My friend from school is going to Japan in a couple of weeks, and he said he'd get me whatever I want if I give him the money beforehand. I'm thinking I'll have him pick me up a Bit Char G and about 2 or 3 upgrades. I'm looking at either the Supra or Skyline, but any suggestions at all are welcome. I'm especially interested in having him get me some stuff that isn't available in America; otherwise I might as well buy it here, right? So are there any like, heinously fast motors available in Japan?

Note:I'd like to keep the bill under or around $50.

thanks!:D

Get the automodelista set. They are terribly rare in the states and contain a supra body and 2 skyline bodies. The castrol supra is a nice body as well if you don't wanna "pure street" supra.

The autmodellista is a good buy. It is fairly new though and they might have a lot of them in their shipments or comming in the next few months. There are a lot of hard to find ones that TOMY dose not make anymore or dose not make in large quantities. I heard that the AE86 Tureno Tune-Up kit was discontinued ( not sure though). But if it's a Skyline and Supra you want, automodellista is a good one. ( got boost too;) ) Good luck on your choice :) .

prices here are not bad, but watch where you buy.

hello,

i was thinking about getting that auto modellista set but i was wondering about the boosting part. what kind of boost is it? i heard some good stuff about boosting and some stuff like it's not exactly what people think. do you get to boost when you want? or does it automaticly do that? and could you use 2 batteries and or motors with this boost kit? is it better than buying the multi band boost cars?

There is an additional button on the controller that activates the boost so it is decided by you when to boost. I have heard that the range is bad on some of them. I have also heard 2 reports on the boost some say it is amazing some say it is equal to a regular char g.

How much is that automodelista set gonna cost me? It sounds pretty sweet. Also could somebody explain to me the 'boost" principle? It sounds basically like NOS, jst hit a button and get more power(?). Does it use extra batteries or something?

The boost feature just sends more current to the motor, making it spin faster. Almost anything in Japan is available here in the US. You may have to pay a little bit more, but at least you'll be able to get it quicker instead of waiting for your friend to come back.
