Wire for Steering Spring?

Anyone know what I could use to make a replacement steering wire?

QFM has a tip using their suspension springs, but I'm not going to order that just to make the steering sprin?

Any ideas appreciated.

i saw some site showing that you could use the springs inside a vhs tape for the steering, haven't tried it myself, but you might want to look into it.

i found springs that are non magnetic for slot cars. 1.59$ for four of them. check a hobby shop that sells slot cars. its a lot thinner than a vcr spring. i only sort of got it to work tho. i also saw some site that sells steering springs but i dont remember the url.

search success

Found perfect replacement on bit char-g forum.

Either guitar string .009 or violin "A" string. Easy for me to get at lunch time.

Thanks to blacksabbath070 over on that board.

Picked up the .009 Guitar string today...it is MUCH thicker than the OEM. Wonder if anyone else has replacement ideas?
