Bad LED bulb?
Finally got the time to throw my Bit Char Light LED kit together. Everything is soldered in place, everything looks good. But only one LED is lighting up! I would assume that means the circuit is good, therefore the bulb must be bad. Could I be wrong?
I have no problem picking up another LED and throwing it on, but from what I've heard you can't pick up LEDs as bright/good as the ones with the kit from Radio Shack or anything. |
It would be nicer for you to just check if the LED works.
You can do this pretty easy. Just put a flat battery between its legs (each leg must touch a different side of the battery) to see if it lights up. If it not working the the LED is useless. |
Think I could do this while it's still all wired up? I did one hell of a solder job on that biatch. :o

Shiat...the LED is bad. Anyone know a good place to get a nice bright bluish LED?

Whoah. Let's not be hasty. You do understand that LED's are one way? If you wire them backwards they will not work. I don't know your level of electrical knowledge, but I've seen plenty of people get lucky wiring LED's and get the first three or four the right way and then get confused when the fifth doesn't light.

I even tested the battery directly on the LED, still didn't work. I'm emailing Toy East god dammit!!! :D |
Have you tried www.bgmicro.com?

The problem is really trying to find one to match the one with my kit. It's PERFECT...I'd really love to find one or two more of these. :(
