3rd battery controller mod?

Hi...

I have tried to read every thread on this mod (i.e. 3rd AAA in series on the controller), but I need a little more info about it.

1. Anyone know how much voltage these controllers can take? (why not a 4th battery).
2. What does it do to the charging cycle for the car itself?

As an aside, does anyone know how the led changes from red to green? Is it just a timer, or does it somehow measure the charge on the NIMH in the car.

I would eventually love to put a 120mAH battery in the car itself, and change the resistance so the motor can get more juice, but I really like the convenience of having the charger on top of the controller. I'm also hoping to get more range than what I have gotten from just the antenna mods.

TIA...

i was running 3 aa batteries in my controller and it did two things

1: it did charge a little quicker

2: it almost doubled the range

Thanks for the input...

3 Double A's? Interesting...but doable. I would still want to keep the controller as small as possible, though.

my bad the zz controllers use aaa batteries but you could use 3 or 4 of either.
