Butler's Bitty

Couldn't post a pic until I modded something.:D

I have lowered the front. I cut the piece of chassis that holds on the body at the front clean off. Re attached it to the chassis lower down. Not sure how I am going to do the back yet.

It turns in better now believe it or not!

Here's what i plan to do to lower the entire body.... I'm going to shave the slots in the body lower with a dremel.... Then i'm going fill the hole with putty, then dremel the slot again. So the slot is going to lower the body.... sound good? or should i throw away the idea?;)

Butler, very cool!!!

Thanks, :)

Wedge,
I am going to try that for lowering the back. You can't modify the back the same as the front because the heat sink is clipped in.

I am not sure I have a tool that will cut a slot that small.:(

Oh BTW you have to move the slot UP to lower the body. :p

that might work, but only if you use a body that has a big roof. if not when you lower it, the clear plastic case will hit the body. you might have to do a little dremeling on the car, as well as the body

btlmr 07-16-2002 09:24 AM

I don't think thats is an issue on any of the cars I have seen.

btlmr 07-18-2002 05:49 AM

I take that back:(

The roof has enough height, but not width. D'oh

And I have made I right mess cutting the new slot in the back:(

New bodies please.....:p

Not sure what to do now.

Oh no! You can always reattach the tab in the same place? Or get yourself some shiny new DansAm bodies! ;) Either way, I hope you get it fixed!

Tinyrc,

The tab is fine. I moved the tab on the front with great success, as shown in my pic. I couldn't move the rear tab because it holds the heatsink. So in my infinite wisdom I decided to dremel another slot in the back of the body higher up to lower it on the car. I basically did it too high and the body won't go lower enough to attach it because the chassis wedges itself first. :(

The back of the car body has 2 slots and one of them is wonky and in the wrong place. I wonder if my local car body repair shop will look at it. :p

Anyway it a good reason to buy some modelling stuff and start a customer paint job

:D

ViperKid 07-18-2002 09:45 AM

oh well, at least bodys only cost a shade under ten bucks. you can always try again:)

btlmr 07-24-2002 07:17 AM

Where can you get the bodies from?

I have got some modeling putty and paint now, so I shall be making some repairs and hopefully it all nice again ;)
