Ultimate Light Mod?

Can any of you w/ the electical engineering degrees make sense of the light set for sale HERE ?

Is it possible to "backward" engineer this light set so that we here in the states can make it ourselves?

delmonk 10-31-2002 06:31 PM

you can buy it from him he ships it overseas.
speaking of the ultimate light mod does anyone know where I can get one of those tiny headlight LEDs it comes with, I think one of mine broke

Radio Shack should have them. If they dont have any of them, any other electronic supply store should have them.

hey, u dont need to backwards engineer anythign he give u a schematic at the bottom of tha page.. all u need to do is buy the tools and supplies and do it

delmonk 11-01-2002 06:01 PM

You still need a schematic for the board...

mattattack 11-01-2002 09:33 PM

u can buy those boards at radio shack and places like it, also check out his home page... its got a tonn of other killer light mods too

Probably would be Cheaper and easier just to buy the Ultimate Light mod, especially since everything needed is included in the kit!;)

mattattack 11-03-2002 09:56 AM

i think he gives you everything but u still have to solder it all together. so now the only real question is eactly what boards is he using so we can go and buys it ourselves

delmonk 11-03-2002 01:07 PM

I think they are custom designed and produced boards for the ultimate light kit. Why would radio shack carry such things. I think you would need to know all the components on the board and its layout and make one yourself

Short1mgb 11-04-2002 11:27 AM

radio shack should have the boards but the only problem is geting one that would fit. I tried looking there but i couldnt find any but my friend found some at another radio shack and by the time i got there they were all sold out :( for all the guys here that can make them well you go ahead and put it up on ebay with a tutorial and ill buy it in a heart beat and i sure some othere ppl here will too.

delmonk 11-04-2002 12:04 PM

Ok then I want to go to radio shack and purchase such boards, what is the part # or what should I be asking for?

sg1717 11-04-2002 01:05 PM

Yea, if we can make this thing ourselves, that would be great!!!

Whose got the info????? I want details....part numbers and where I can get the stuff...muhahahahaha

delmonk 11-04-2002 01:16 PM

Unless I get a part # I still don't believe radio shack sells those boards preassembled with all the chips solder on it. Unless radio shack was actually selling the ultimate light kit itself why would they have it, what would they have it for?

mattattack 11-09-2002 04:36 PM

There is no way he make those boards himslef in shis basement. if he dose i'll eat my bit. Those boards have to be baught somewhere. on the installation page he refers to them as krm1 and krm3 circuit boards!

delmonk 11-10-2002 02:39 AM

You don't make them in a garage. There are certain electrical engineering or manufacturing companies which can mass produce those boards. All you have to do is give them the skematic and stuff. I know this because I use to draft mechanical designs using autocad.
We still need to know the schematic for the board to be able to mass produce them.
