controller mod

i just recently finally found a place to get the real bit charg g. i got the honda nsx on 27 mhz, terrible range, so i did the car antenna mod i do with all my cars, it helped a little but still not good enough. So i decided to rip into the controller to see whats going on in there. i noticed that the wire antenna isnt even actually attached to the pcb, its just pinched into place on the bracket so the antenna can be wound up. So i decided to completely take the wind up antenna out and modify it with a radio shack telescopic antenna, about 22 inches. The way I did this was melt a section of the top of the controller out right where the screw is that holds down the antenna bracket. then screw the new antenna down with the stock bracket and screw, put it all back together and improved range greatly. Ive noticed that with all my cars that the 27 mhz just seems to not work as well, it must be because other appliances and such have a frequency close to that. PS I was going to do the crip cap mod, but my controller doesnt have one. This also works for zip zap controllers as well, modified same way as bit controller

Thanks, I have always thought that this is the way to go. If you could only boost the strength of the signal comming out of the controler also.

Are you saying that the crip cap mod will work on the zip zap?
