Decisions, decisions....
I ordered the black civic ZZ on monday and it will get here tomorrow...
It is 27mhz and, at the time, I was unaware that these had poor ranges...Is it GUARANTEED that 27mhz cars have a shorter range or is it just that SOME of them do? I'm also considering buying a 49mhz microsizer from Hobbytown USA tomorrow...is this a good idea? Are the MS cars really THAT much better? BTW...I plan on going with red/red with the ZZ and unknotting the antenna...but what are the best setups for MS cars? |
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
i would say go for the microsizer for the fact that its faster and they have more detailed bodys Zipzaps are ok but i still love my bits better its probably for the fact that they are faster and you have a wider range of motors to choose from why not jstu try em both?

I live in the suburbs of Indianapolis, and I don't know how that would affect it...
I just wanted to know if 5 feet is REALLY the limit that some people have been getting on range, because that is unacceptable... |

I agree. I love the handleing of the zip but the speed of the bit. The scale of the zip I prefered over the bit so I put the bit pcb in my zip ad now I have the best of both.

I had a bit clone which had crappy range and it was a 27mhz and I connected 4 cat 5 wires and I get at least 20 feet inside...nothing perfect wit these little car some people get good range some don't but there so easy and fun to mod....I was scared to even take my body of but now I've ripped the whole thing apart...It's great...don't be discouraged look for mods and make it a challenge........And zipzap rock....!!!

JOIN THE DARKSIDE AXVXIA!!!!! just to correct you steve about you saying that bit char-g motors work in teh zipzap the bit char-g 3.8, 3.0, and 2.6 dont because of the lack of torque i think the zipzaps are way to slow even with the nos motor and they dont have as much detail as the bits but i really dont care zzs are cheaper and they are easy to get so they are good to
|
Hmmm
It's just the opposite around here...
ZZ's are IMPOSSIBLE to find yet I could have bought 30 MS's today... |
well i didnt vote cause my answers not there get the bit keep the zip its all based on what you like...and you blacksabbath... you can run a bit motor in a zip 3.0 is what i run and i can easly push a 3.8yes you have to mod but thats what the fun is
|
yea
yea your right i have a zipzap and the 3.0 doesnt run in it and neither does my 2.6 but yea i never said to get rid of the zipzap i have both but i use my bit more just cuz thats what i like better not everybody likes the same thing so oh well

ZIP vs BIT--Initial impressions
The bit, using the stock setup, is very quick...
The ZZ, running the red/red setup is not all that impressive... The bit spins out more than the ZZ....The ZZ definitely handles better, but it is so much slower... As far as range is concerned, the 49mhz bit goes about 20 ft indoors when fully charged, which diminishes to around 8-10 feet when it is running down...The ZZ, which is 27mhz, goes only about 8 feet when fully charged and down to about 2 feet when running down. The difference between the two is probably more frequency-based and not a result of one brand being better than the other. Overall, I like the bit better, but I'm not done messing with the ZZ...I'll probably use the ZZ as my "mod" car and use the bit as my reliable car. |
