Aftermarket battery

Is there any dnano aftermarket battery that is ready to use (in a case like stock one)

I have ordered two 3.7 volt 200mAh Lithium Polymer cells (30mm long x 20mm wide x 4.5mm thick) with a 3C discharge capability (600mA) that I bought for 6.95 each. I will post up how they fit and work this weekend.

Read from Nic-Z in the mini-z forum that 230mah battery for Micro-T on ebay fits Dnano. Got one from automizzi. It did not fit for me without modification. Battery is $20 with shipping, and comes with 2 cells. That works out to $10 each for a 230mah battery. You have to be comfortable soldering lipo battery. I turned up the heat on the iron, and solder no more than 5 seconds at a time, then wait for it to cool.
Here is how I did the mod:

You have to break the pack into two batteries. The two are taped together, so careful not to break the tabs. Desolder the tabs. Bend the soft end of the battery down about 45 deg to fit onto chassis.

Take the circuit board that connects the cells together. Put a good scratch mark on the board with a xacto knife down the middle with and break it in half just like cutting glass. Solder the half onto the battery. This will give a good contact for the chassis. Use the other half for the other battery. Probably you could glue the circuit board down, but I did't do it yet.

Done. Battery fits good and works well on my stock car.

Nice little mod. What kind of power increase and run-time do you get with these? Also, what charger do you use for them?
When Eflite released the new MSR micro helicopter, they made a clever four-battery charging system for those tiny lipo's. Would be nice to see same type charger for Dnano batteries so we can charge four at once.

just FYI, Atomic has dropped a Lithium Ion battery for dNaNo...

Nice, but what kind of power increase/run times are we getting with Atomic's lipo?

i think they may have the same weight. kyosho organized competition in japan is very strict about using only kyosho stuff in their competitions. i can only assume kyosho america will follow suit with their rules.

I saw the Atomic dNano battery today. Any test reports on it yet? I think one of the guys at our track already bought one; I'll try to get his opinion on it soon...

I just got two packages of the Atomic batteries for my Dnano's. They came pre-charged! I put one in the charger assuming I'd have to charge it. The light didn't go on so I thought I'd try it. Worked instantly at full power. I was impressed. Seems to have same volts/amps etc' so I don't expect much performance gains. I think their worth it and I'll have to look at their charging adaptor!
