Most competitive Dnano?
 

I'm looking into a Dnano, I've only raced mini-z AWD to date. With the Mini-z, tire cover is a big issue, as is offsets and chassis length. Basically, choosing to race a mini-z awd in its readyset chassis configuration could be a big mistake. Is tire cover an issue with DNANOS? Is there preferred starting sets. I don't care which body I LIKE, I want the most competitive one. I don't like ferrari enzo at all, its just what I race on my MA-010 because its actually competitive, unlike my readysets original body, the Lancia Delta (which I actually really like).

Please let me know which car is the "one to have" if racing competitively or if it doesn't really matter. I like some of the bodies a lot but I fear that I'll purchase it and have an inferior setup.

Hey Ray! I did that. Unfortunately there are only 20 or so people on that site. It seems that the "fastest" is kinda silly, its determined by amount of laps completed with no set timeframe. Take a look and see if I'm interpreting that wrong. I guess it looks like there is a small amount of extra points given for particularly fast laps? Basically, with enough slow laps you could be the top ranked as the fastest on the site.

i have not browsed the stats. i just assumed they they would offer stats such as fastest lap, etc. they offer online trophies for fastest lap, etc. so the data must be there somewhere.

The race cars have lower body height than the sports cars. But the Murcielago seems to have the widest track width and a wheelbase that is on the longerside.

You're gonna want something with a low CG (so no Lancia Delta ;), Subaru WRX, Lancer). I've found the RM cars to be quicker through the tight sections of tracks. This is probably due to most of the RM cars having a shorter wheelbase. I also wouldn't get something like a Porsche 962 with a giant spoiler hanging off the back. Other than that, they're pretty even.

Not to mention the whole concept of competing against others on "similar" tracks just isn't the same no matter how you slice it. I think the HFAY series is great in concept too but you'll never convince me the same layout track in one place is anything close to another. Heck we've even proved humidity has a major impact on same track at same location;)

i don't recall anyone ever claiming hfay would be comparison statistics in absolute exact detail. it's always been about the concept. there is no absolute way to get precise identical track conditions, even if they were both at the same store. there are always ever so slight variations in production runs, varying temp differneces within the same store, etc. if you looking at it from that angle, yes, it's not the same. i'd argue 95% of us however enjoy the concept and racing for what it is and don't dwell on the miniscule and minute variations which for all intense and purpose are impossible to eliminate.

if you waiting for someone to convince you, your going to be waiting for a very long time, i don't think anyone had that in mind.
