What's the blue tape on the bottom?

It is starting to peel in one corner. Is it OK if it falls off?

NO! That's the RFID transponder tag! If that falls of, you can't get your lap times counted.

So it really has a function.... I have no race track around here so .... As long as the car runs fine then I will be OK.

i noticed it starts 2 pull as well. that's not a good thing because the cars have small ground clearance anyhow. superglue doesn't help so don't waste your time. it can be a problem if their are intrusions on the surface where that little peeling sticker can get caught

is there space to use double sided scotch tape?

edhchoe 04-08-2009 07:39 PM

That's a good suggestion. It would be best if that will be the permanent solution. However, if it starts to come off again, then separating the film from the tape will be impossible and one will have to use a new tape and with the repeating of this it will get thicker and thicker making the ground clearance less and less... The corner that is coming off is like 2mm x 2mm x √8 mm.

I am also interested if anybody had tried to intentionally remove their transponder... to move to another car :) Are there any contact leads or anything under it?

Don't know...But the instruction manual says that you will damage BOTH the tag and the car if you attempt to remove it...

What is this... "instruction manual" you mention? LOL

I have a feeling there are two leads to jump the transponder but I am sure it can be bypassed.

I cut off the clear part of the corner that was peeling.
